With oxygen in your tank, return there now. You can only find the sea urchin in the area where you recently dove to solve the Sudoku-style puzzle. As the sign notes, that 'ball' is actually a sea urchin. Listen to the "Ball" sound on the right side and you will suddenly realize that to get past the monkeys, you have to distract them with a ball they seek. It's important that you take this step even if you've already done so earlier in the game, before encountering those irritating monkeys that were blocking your path.
There, check the sign that lets you hear samples of the different monkey communications. Since you don't know what that noise means, that's your clue to turn around and return to the lodge. Click on the third monkey to arrive and it will make a strange sound as you ask what it'll take for the monkeys to move. To advance past them, you need to distract them. As you advance forward, the monkeys will stand in your way and block your progress along trail that you have discovered. Once you arrive at the top right portion of the cliffs, you'll be greeted by some rambunctious monkeys similar to the ones you met at the research center. The monkeys are difficult to reach and noisy upon your arrival.
You may lack proper gear but you're still quite the climber. Fortunately, ducking into caves?even if only for a second?replenishes your health. If too many strike, you'll have to try again. As you do, you'll find yourself watching your own progress up the cliff as rocks fall from above. If you drive to the edge of the dirt space, you can climb some cliffs to meet with some more animals (including a new group of monkeys). Continuing along the asphalt path, you'll come to a place where a dirt recess takes off toward the south, leading to the base of some cliffs. Now you need to drive the golf cart along the western path on the island, toward the north until you start wrapping around toward the east. When you've found the desired piece of driftwood, Coucou will accept your offering and you will be able to grab the old perch for your inventory after viewing some intriguing newspaper clippings. You'll likely have to try several times to find the perch that the bird has in mind. For quick reference, know that the one at Blue Hole has no bark and two leaves (which makes it rather unique) while most of the other branches have bark. You can retrieve the wood bits in any order you like, but you won't find one that satisfies the bird until you bring back one that meets certain specifications. You won't likely see it until you head to the pool of water, then turn around and start back toward your golf cart. There are two pieces at Shark Cove, two along Sangre Beach and one near Blue Hole. You can find driftwood lying around in several locations not far from the lodge but you can only bring one back to the bird at a time.
